How much does BetterShelf cost?
The Free plan costs nothing – two shelves and up to 30 products, with no time limit. Plus is a paid upgrade available monthly, yearly (cheaper than paying month to month) or as a one-off lifetime purchase; the exact amount in your currency is in the pricing section above. It unlocks adding products by photo, unlimited shelves and family sharing.
Which devices does BetterShelf run on?
The app runs on Android (Google Play, version 8.0 and up) and on iPhone and iPad (App Store, iOS 14 and up). Data syncs through your Google account or Apple ID, so the same shelf shows up on your tablet too.
What exactly do I get with Plus?
Recognising a product from a single photo using AI, unlimited shelves and products, scanning a whole receipt at once, family sharing, the expiry calendar and an ad-free app. The free version keeps you organised; Plus saves you a lot of time.
Does BetterShelf work without internet?
Yes. You can browse your shelves and add products by hand offline – in a holiday cottage or a shop with no reception. Everything syncs as soon as you are back online. Adding by photo and family sharing need a connection.
What languages does the app support?
BetterShelf is available in nine languages including English, with localised product categories and notifications. It is built by CodeWhiskers, a Czech company – write to support in English and you will usually hear back by the next day.
What happens to my data?
Data is encrypted in transit and in the cloud, and backed up to servers in the EU. Photos of your products are not used to train third-party AI models. You can delete your account and all its data at any time in Settings.
